7th November 2015. There’s a kind of coincidental continuity here as Alec toured with Darius’s father, the eminent pianist Dave Brubeck. However, Darius is very much his own man, a pianist of startling quality who will recall his late father’s repertoire but add that extra touch of magic that is his own. He’s an engaging communicator and we’re delighted that his quartet can appear for us in a brief stopover between their concert appearances at major jazz festivals around the globe. Out front, it’s the brilliant British tenor-saxophonist Dave O’Higgins with bassist Matt Ridley and drummer Wesley Gibbons in support. Quite a coup for Pinner!
