Can we build it? Yes, we can! Brick by brick the
William Heath Robinson Museum is being built and is due to open very soon now -
mid Summer 2016. Trustees are pleased to announce that, as a gesture of support,
LEGO has donated a large box of
LEGO
bricks for the museum. Creativity and building will be by-words for the
museum; getting children involved in practical hands-on activities are
at the forefront of what the museum will be all about.
Claire Linge, Learning Officer for the new Museum says “We are very grateful to
LEGO
for their kind donation. It will help enliven our future workshops with
children – and maybe adults. It will help bring architecture to life
and foster children’s imagination. Our thanks to
LEGO for making us such a practical gift”.
Danny Cazzato, one of the People’s Choices at the Secret Art Sale last year and husband of
Delia Cazzato, one of the
William Heath Robinson Museum volunteers, works at LEGO and put forward the idea that there is a very real link between the aims of
LEGO and that of the new Museum. Danny said
“The recently launched “
Buy a Brick” campaign aimed at raising funds to complete the museum has a focus on the need for “bricks” of every sort. We at
LEGO
are delighted to contribute to the effort by providing a LOT of bricks
for the younger audience who come to the Museum workshops, to add to
their enjoyment”.
