George's Day Updated reportthe celebrations organised by
Pinner Rotary club took place in
Pinner Village High Street on (Sunday 23rd April.) Brilliant sunshine brought out record crowds to this annual event organised by
Pinner Rotary Club. Multi award winning
Estate Agents Gibbs Giliespie made the celebrations possible with there generous sponsorship.
The Deputy Mayor of the London Borough of Harrow Councillor Margaret Davine together with representatives from the Royal Society of st George were the honoured guests for the afternoon. Among the many charities present were The
Pinner Association,
Ruislip Lions Clubs who were raising much needed funds for the community.
Pinner and District Scouts and Pinner Real Ale Tasting Society were also in attendance.
Family entertainment was in abundance with a Punch and Judy Show, a Petting farm and rides and games for children of all ages.
Singing classical English songs was
Gemma Turner who has been a regular performer for a number of years together with
English Folk dancing.
The
Wheelbarrow Race was the highlight of the afternoon, and the winning team were from The
Odfellows Arms in Waxwell Lane. Best dressed competitors were
The Aviators (pictured left)
Proceed of the event will go to
Teenage cancer Trust.
