Over 100 members of the Scout Movement of Pinner & Headstone District descended on Pinner High Street for St Georges Day celebrations. Many Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorer Scouts and Leaders all renewed their promise on the fine Sunday afternoon. Joined by members of Girlguiding UK, never has there been such a high turnout of young people for such a public event in Pinner.
We were also proud to present Mrs Julie Biddle and Mr Alan Biddle with the Bar to the Silver Acorn and Silver Acorn respectively. This recognised their fantastic effort they have put into Scouting during their service. Presented by Alison Oakley of Greater London Middlesex West County, St Georges Day awards are only given to those members who have displayed meritorious conduct of both high quality Scouting and superb length of service.
Tyler Skerton, Deputy District Commissioner said “Never have I been so proud of all the young people in our District and especially of Julie & Alan. Without all the hard work of all our 150 volunteers in the area, we would not be able to deliver high quality Scouting for so many six to 25 year olds.”
