Pinner Rotary in action....Continued
In the recent past we have made donations from this fund to charities such as: Life Education, Hillingdon; Commulity Link Up, Pinner; Headway, Northwest London; Choices 4 All, Harrow; the Willow Foundation; Changing Faces; Eagles Wings and Rotary Doctor Bank. Local charities feature strongly in these donations. Sainsbury’s Store in Pinner very kindly allowed us to raise money for these causes by collecting for our “General Charity Fund” on Friday (18th June) and Saturday (19th June). The World Cup may have distracted some but our collectors were out there trying to make a difference and trying to “put a little back” – or were they really trying to take their minds off the performance of the England team? Once again we were extremely heartened by the response of the public and customers of Sainsbury’s who donated to this collection and together with the Gift Aid refunds due (from the Inland Revenue) just on donations made over these two days we raised £1030. We would like to thank everyone for their support. For more information please visit: www.pinnerrotary.org.uk.

Pinner Arsenal fans, 10 year old Tanya Kekic and her 9 year old brother Luka, joined 200 other lucky young Arsenal fans to become the first in the Club’s history to camp out overnight on the Emirates Stadium pitch on Friday 14th May 2010. The unique and fun-packed event, attended by Junior Gunners* aged between seven and 12 years old, offered attending children the chance to play on the pitch overseen by qualified coaches, eat post-match dinner up on the swanky Club Level hospitality tier and watch a movie before it was time for lights out and the big sleepover. Sue Campbell, manager of the Junior Gunners supporters said: “We’re very proud of the exciting activities our members have access to and camping on the pitch is the latest initiative that demonstrates that we like to go the extra mile for our fans. The 200 lucky Junior Gunners that were here for the first-ever kids’ sleepover on the pitch at an English football club were part of a special and unique experience for everyone involved. Along with the tickets on offer and days out, there are many reasons to join up!” More info

Parking Petition over 1000
A parking petition organised and supported by Pinner businesses is gathering a pace. Pinner residents are being encouraged to sign a petition which requests Harrow Council to review it's policy on parking fees in Pinner and surrounding area's. Currently there is no 30 minute free parking period which is being enjoyed by many other local high streets in the area. James Gibbs Chairman of the Pinner and District Business club asks residents interested in supporting the campaign to look for shops displaying posters in Pinner, where they will be able sign the petition.
