Pinner Village Show
A wonderful sunny day helped everyone to enjoy themselves in Pinner Park at the Pinner Village Show organised by the Rotary Club of Pinner. The event raised funds for the British Heart Foundation. To see the photos taken by the Pinner Local Team Click here.

Shu Shu has just opened bringing stylish shoes and accessories to Pinner High Street.

The Royal Air Force Association President's Band Concert

Soon to open a Greencrocer in Bridge St
There is a welcome sign on the former Flower Shop in Bridge Street Pinner advertising the impending opening of "Jamie's" Greengrocers business. Pinner has needed a good independant in the village centre for some time.

More changes in train in the High Street and Bridge Street
In Bridge St, Cancer Research UK has opened its new retail shop "Wishes", The Herbs & Acupuncture Chinese Medicine Clinic is fully open, to learn more Click here
In the High Street the former Bond Street Boutique premises will reopen as a new shoe shop "Shu Shu" which also has a branch at Beaconsfield. They are advertising for staff. Scanscene is also tempoarily closed we understand, for refitting and new ranges. The new apartments being developed above the Red Lion Parade are well under way.

Changes in Pinner Shops
There are quite a few shops changing hands in Pinner. Laural has now been rebranded to James Lakeland, Scanscene has a new owner and Bond Street Boutique is also in the process of changing. Herbs and Accupuncture is new in Bridge Street where Dreamcatcher once stood. The Cancer Research UK shop is rebranding as Wishes, still under their ownership. Cafe Cocoa is another business about to have a new owner. Shu Shu shoes is also due to open soon in The High Street.

Latest Edition of The Villager Celebrating The Pinner Association's 75th Anniversary
Members of the Pinner Association have just received their latest very special copy of The Villager. The annual subscription to the Association is modest and "The Villager" is an invaluable guide to Pinner.

Major Construction in Pinner
There is a great deal of construction underway in the village. The skyline in changing over Red Lion Parade and the water main is being renewed. On the other side of Bridge Street there is the prospect of more flats being developed.

Significant Business Change in Pinner
This year has seen a significant number of changes in all types of businesses in Pinner. There have been a number of closures, relocations, shops changing hands and completely new arrivals. The local fashion scene is tipped to become even stronger with expansion by the Valet and talk of a new shoe shop and perhaps a Fashion Chain joining the already well established shops like Camilla's and dnk london. This is on top of the Evans Easyspace office development in Marsh Road.

West House and Heath Robinson Trust nominated for £1000 grant
West House and the Heath Robinson Trust have been entered for the Observer and Barclays let’s do awards by Cynthia Wells. The Pinner Observer carried an article last week that explained how significant money has been raised, mainly by local people to restore the building and it should be finished by the end of the year. Mrs. Wells confirmed that the trustees of the charity are now working on raising money to fit out the restored building. When completed the house will be Harrow’s first public art gallery, capable of staging local and national exhibitions.The building will also house more than 500 original works by the internationally respected illustrator Heath Robinson who lived in Pinner and Hatch End, it will also contain the Pinner Book of Remembrance.

Evans House official opening
Today saw the offical opening of Evans House in Pinner by the Mayor of Harrow Jean Lammiman and the local MP. Click here for photograph and information. This gave local businesses a further opportunity to learn about Evans Easyspace and see the impressive facilities available. 

Kitts Travel Finalists in Travel Agent of the Year 2007 Awards
Andrew Rowdon and Kitts Travel have been selected as Finalists in the 2007  Travel Agent of the year competition. This is an incredible achievement as the entrants are drawn from all over the United Kingdom. The Finals take place in Manchester on 12 July. Visit Latest Linda Blackstone Exhibition
On during the period 6 June to 23 June between 10 am to 5 pm, Wednesday to Saturday see the excellent exhibtion of paintings etc that the gallery is renowned for in Pinner and the surrounding area. Closed on Monday's and Tuesday's.

Pinner Fair took place on Wednesday in spite of rain
Young people from Pinner and the surrounding area enjoyed the Fair which took place in the High Street, Bridge Street and Marsh Road. Lots of stalls and rides, "All the Fun of the Fair".

Pinner Village Featured in New Tourism Campaign
As part of the Visit London Villages campaign Harrow on the Hill and Pinner are both highlighted in a brand new integrated marketing campaign by Visit London to promote the capital's range of villages. The campaign is the result of partnership work between Visit London and participating councils throughout London.The campaign kicks off on Thursday 24 May when 2,000 square feet of green turf will transform Trafalgar Square into London's "village green".  During the two-day event people will be able to take advantage of the green space to have a picnic or just soak up the atmosphere and relax in a deck chair. The brand new Village Life guide featuring both Harrow on the Hill and Pinner is now available with the current edition of Time Out and with Friday's edition of the Evening Standard. Favourite local haunts will be recognised in the guide along with the first mention of the West House developments in Pinner. An online version of the guide will be available.

The Valet are introducing Womenswear from September 2007
The very distinctive menwear shop in the High Street have announced that they will be stocking womenwear from September 2007. More information about ranges as available.

Maytime Revels in Pinner Memorial Park in Support of West House
The Maytime Revels were enthusiastically supported in Pinner Memorial park on Saturday and enjoyed by all in spite of the weather which as forecast had both sunshine and showers. There were dancers from Pinner Theatre and Dance, musicians, a visit of the Mayor of Harrow Cllr. Jean Lammiman and a number of local charities supporting the day, to raise funds for the Friends of West House to carry on the restoration. Corbett's Bookshop in Pinner High Street Closing Down
The village has just heard of the very unfortunate impending closure of Corbett's bookshop. A focal point of the Street and a pleasant refuge to browse for a book. David Cooke the manager and all the staff, want all their customers to know that they are sad to be closing and thank everyone for their support over many years.

Pinner Association AGM & Harrow Tourism
The meeting on Wednesday 25 April provided an update on the year from the Association standpoint and was followed by an excellent talk from Lizi Clark the Harrow Tourism Officer. She emphasised the importance of Tourism to London as a whole and also for the individual Boroughs where it is a real money spinner. The advent of the new Wembly stadium and the 2012 Olympics will have a beneficial effect for the Harrow area. She also emphasied the size of the relatives and friends visiting market in London, which has not been highlighted in the past but which brings with it substantial financial advantage to local businesses.

Pinner St. George's Day Celebrations on Sunday 22 April 2007
This years event exceeded expectations and was fun for all the family. There were great crowds in the village and the weather was terrific. The  day started with the Farmers Market and Spring Plant Fair. The traditional Ye Olde Pinner Village wheelbarrow race started at Elm park and went along Bridge St, with wheel oiling stops at the Oddfellows Arms, The George in Marsh Road and then on to, The Victory the The Hand in Hand, finishing at The Queens Head in the High St. It was a vigorous competition and  the 15 teams did well to complete the course and drink the mandatory real ale. The singer Gemma Turner  returned to entertain, (sponsored by Hanney Dawkins & Jones). The Harrow and Pinner Lions and other local groups had their stalls out. A mounted St. George and the Balloon man were enjoyed by the children. There were Morris dancers as well. Friends restaurant and The Queens Head served traditional English fare. The Victory pub also had a BBQ and face painting as well as their nomal menu. More shops opened in the High St, including The Valet , The Village Gallery and Laural. More positive news. Contrary to recent reports Pinner is not dominated by Charity shops and there are still a large number of independent and interesting shops in the village. Have a look at the Directory on Pinner Local which reveal’s the true position. If you are looking for fashion, hardware, DIY, a pet shop, or a real butchers it is all there. There is also a wealth of restaurants. Memories are short because not long ago Pinner was voted the best place to live in the Borough.
There are more rumours that the former McDonald’s site will become the location for an estate agent. Perhaps it will be Foxtons who expanded into Surrey by opening a new office in Guildford last year. There they have a cafe-style office, which may help to explain why such a large site would be required.

The McDonald's restaurant in Bridge Street closed on Saturday. This is believed to be due to a change in trading patterns. It had been open in the village since 1989.
