BrOOk's media starring role
Independent Bookshop's in the UK are undergoing a revival and this has led to gathering media attention for Pinner based BrOOk's, who have taken off in style, having opened in the autumn of last year. The Guardian and Times have already featured them and this morning Sky News interviewed Peter, the team and customers. The formula is coffee with books but also later opening hours during the week, with a wine bar and selected events helping to bring the community together. There are a number of ingredients necessary to fully revive High Streets including changes to the penal rates regime but shops and businesses also need to rethink their opening hours to accommodate modern working practises, to attract the commuter, plus provide experiences which are very much in demand today.
