Pinner Players - The Crucible - 16/11/2024

Pinner Players - The Crucible
Thursday 14th November 2024 - Saturday 16th November 2024.
Directed by Simon Cash. Arthur Miller’s classic play is a dramatised and partially fictionalised story of the Salem witch trials that took place in the Massachusetts Bay Colony during 1692–93. Miller wrote the play as an allegory for McCarthyism when the United States government persecuted people accused of being communists. But this can and has been played as a metaphor for any authoritarian movement or society in which to speak against the ideology or question its veracity would lead to persecution or demonisation.
