After 25 years at Friends, and a lot of miles on the clock, it was time to slow down. I always wanted to live near the sea, but wondered how I would fill my time after a lifetime of being always on the go. After 18 months of touring the West Country, thinking about the options, we decided that a small guest house might be ideal, a lifestyle business.
Eventually, we found a place we liked, in a quiet part of Torquay, where I already had friends, including 2 Michelin starred chefs! And only 12 minutes’ walk to the sea front!
We opened at Easter, and have thoroughly enjoyed every moment since! A little cookery, sharing great hospitality with friends old and new, a little fishing, and a walk along the coast every day! And so much to do here.

It truly is The English Riviera, great scenery, great climate, great restaurants, in fact, it’s great!
