Local DJC Sound Ready to support your event
News reporter Eleanor Clavin talked to Dennis proprietor of DJC Sound about the effects of the pandemic on his industry.
The coronavirus pandemic has been hard hitting for the music and arts industry with live music events and theatre cancelled for most of the year. This has had a huge impact on live performers, as well as the businesses that help to organise live functions, with an estimated 95% drop in technical supply revenue across 2020.
DJC Sound Systems, based in Pinner, is one business which has been greatly impacted by the pandemic due to a ban on social gatherings. Denis Cater, who manages the company, stated, “This has been an extremely hard time for us but we’re looking forward to planning events for when lockdown ends."
DJC Sound Systems relies on social events, offering a range of services to help organise various functions including parties, concerts and theatre productions. “We offer far more than sound equipment. We can help organise all our client’s technical needs: lighting, staging, generators and more. We help our clients through from the planning stage right to the installation of equipment and operation.”
Independent businesses in particular have struggled greatly and it is hugely important that we ensure their survival. DJC Sound Systems  recruits freelancers to provide a customisable experience to clients. Not only does this ensure that the company is adaptable but it also supplies a number of jobs to skilled individuals within the industry.
Established in 1995, the company offers extensive experience. Some of their previous projects include well known community events such as Pinner Pantomime, Rickmansworth Festival and functions at Brunel University.  "I think that what sets us apart from bigger companies is the personalisation. As a small team, we can really provide the personal touch and tailor our services to your needs in order to completely transform a space."
With the restrictions looking to be lifted in June, there is hope that people will begin to require their services once more. "We're excited to get started. We’re offering services for business launches and open days as things start up again.” The company has also said that they are ready to start planning festivals and Christmas events to ensure that people can make the most of time together after lockdown.
The only way to ensure the survival of sound technology companies is to utilise their services when it becomes possible and embrace upcoming celebrations.. Many people are looking forward to getting back to their usual social events and will perhaps embrace them even more after coming through the pandemic.
