New Tuition Centre launched in Pinner Parish Church

There was a great turnout for the charity fashion show organised by local financial advisor and football coach, Les Conway.

In the picture above a group of ladies who were some of the 150 people who attended the fashion show.  show recently organised by Pinner  resident, Les Conway, and his father Stan Conway, to mark the 25th anniversary of Pinner Jewish Football Club.
The show took place on Sunday 11th September at Pinner Synagogue in Middlesex and showcased the designs of locally based boutique, James Lakeland.
A total of £3,500 was raised and all proceeds from the event, including an auction on the night, went to a very worthwhile charity, Meir Panim, which aims to eliminate child poverty in Israel and amongst Holocaust victims and their families.

Former Liverpool, Spurs, Watford and Israel International football player, Ronnie Rosenthal, was the special celebrity guest (pictured above sitting on the left) and Jewish Chronicle sports editor, Danny Caro, was the compere on the night (pictured on the right).
Also present were Lewis Malka, representing the charity, Meir Panim UK, and Stephen Sweden, Pinner JFC Founder and Club President.

Les Conway's wife, Caroline, modelling one of the James Lakeland outfits at the fashion show marking the 25th anniversary of Pinner Jewish Football Club.
Les is passionate about grassroots youth football and, 2½ years ago, with former professional Phil Gridelet, he set up Elite Soccer Academy, based in NW London/West Hertfordshire. The Academy specialises in developing young players beyond the usual confines of the grassroots game.  It works with Pinner JFC, of which Les is Chairman and Trustee. His dedication and hard work have been instrumental in helping both to focus on growth to increase participation at all levels.
Les has also been a financial advisor for over 20 years and last year set up his own practice, Essentially Financial, based in Marsh Road, Pinner.

The Harrow Suzuki Group is delighted to be making its musical debut at this year’s Pinner Pantomime Evening in November.  This is a group of children from as young as 3 up to the age of 14 who are being taught violin via the Suzuki Method and they meet at the Harrow Arts Centre in Hatch End every other Sunday during term time to play. Their repertoire includes a wide range of music from “Twinkle Twinkle” through to Paganini!  
The group is raising money for "El Sistema", a Venezuelan music education programme that rescues young people in extremely impoverished circumstances from drugs, crime and abuse and educates them through music.  Some of the Suzuki Group children are donating their outgrown violins to El Sistema.  To raise funds, the Suzuki Group will be giving away mince pies at the Panto in return for a small donation of 50p towards a raffle that they will hold on December 4th.  Usborne Books and Forever Natural Aloe Vera Products have kindly donated some very nice books and products to the raffle prizes.
Children from the Harrow Suzuki Group will play the violin at this years Pinner Pantomime evening for the first time.
Members aged from three to eleven have learned to play the instruments using the Suzuki method, a 20th centuary Japanese method of teaching music, at Harrow Arts Centre in Hatch End.
The Pinner Pantomime evening is held in Pinner High Street and Bridge Street on Thursday 24th November 2011.

The D&J Ambrose salon based in Pinner, are currently home to a lot of up-and-coming hair stylists; one of those being Kieran Tudor. He recently gained membership of Wella Professionals’ Generation NOW team – which is a huge deal in the hair industry. It’s a great accomplishment for him and for D&J Ambrose.
