For almost 19 years, Terry Farr has been at the helm at Friends. Visits from the AA and Michelin early on, resulted in entries into these highly respected guides, with AA rosettes and Michelin entries for each consecutive year, currently The AA Restaurant Guide 2011 says “A long standing local’s favourite, this traditional black beamed, 400 year old building with whitewashed exterior is an oasis at the bottom of historic Pinner High Street. Dining rooms over two floors have low wooden beams in predominantly black and white surroundings while a single flower stem on each smartly dressed table gives just a soupçon of colour. The cooking makes use of good British ingredients in modern dishes that are soundly based in classical thinking, a winning formula”.
