Pinner is on the affluent side of the London Borough of Harrow. Originally a mediaeval hamlet, the St John Baptist church dates from the 14th century and other parts of the historic village include Tudor buildings. The newer High Street is mainly 18th-century buildings, while Bridge Street has a more urban character.

With mainly wide tree-lined streets, a conservation area, large houses and flat conversions in attractive Edwardian buildings. It has many large parks including the iconic Pinner Memorial Park in the centre. The Heath Robinson Museum is located in the park along with West House. The large Village Hall hosts many clubs and is a venue for the local Pinner Players. A number of former office blocks have recently been converted into apartments or flats, adding more variety.

Pinner Green and Cannon Lane also have post war properties. Pinner has one of the lowest crime rates in the whole of London, with a number of excellent primary schools and a new secondary school, Pinner High School, making it a popular area for families.

The main shopping area, with a reasonable variety of traders is found in contiguous Marsh Road/Bridge St, Love lane and the historic High St which leads up to the Parish Church at the top of the hill. There are a number of car parks available which unfortunately are not clearly signed.

Two public houses remain in the centre, The Queens Head and the Oddfellows Arms. A new Three Wishes pub is due to open in November. The Whittington Arms is located in Cannon Lane and the Sync bar in Pinner Green which also has the thriving Pinner Green Social Club. There is a diverse range of restaurants & cafes, to suit most tastes in Bridge St, Marsh Rd, Love Lane and the High St.

Sporting facilities include a large Gym in Bridge St. A Tennis Club and  Bowling Club plus Pinner Taekwon-do.

There is a full range of Events during the year including the Charter Pinner Fair, St Georges Day celebrations, Jazz concerts, the Music Festival, Band concerts in the summer and the Annual Pinner Sketch Club exhibition to name just a few.

Pinner is a religiously and culturally diverse area. It has a synagogue and a parish church and a number of other churches serving the local community.

There are numerous clubs and associations in Pinner including the legendary Pinner Association.

The Metropolitan line offers fast trains into London from Pinner station and there are a number of local bus routes serving the surrounding area.
