Agent Hits the Halfway Mark in Charity Fundraising mission

A Pinner estate agent has used pedal power to ride his way to reach the halfway mark in his mission to raise a four figure sum for cancer linked charities this year.

Adam Stimpson, who is the Sales Manager of Gibbs Gillespie in the High Street, set the goal of raising £1000 at the start of 2016 and following his latest effort he’s raised more than £500 towards it.

On Sunday April 24 Adam took part in a charity cycle for Michael Sobell Hospice in Northwood which cares for people with terminal cancer.

Adam, who lives in Northwood, explained more. 

He said: “I have a close friend whose mother is fighting cancer so I decided I wanted to do something which helps sufferers and the charities I’ve been raising money for certainly do that.

“In January I ran a 10K race Cancer Research UK for to get the fundraising off to a good start and the cycle ride has continued that momentum.

“I cycled along with around 100 others and the atmosphere was great. It had rained pretty heavily the previous day so the course we cycled was pretty slippery but it was really enjoyable.

“People have been very supportive so far and I have two more events planned to help me reach my target. It’s given me a focus to stay fit and knowing that some good is coming out of my efforts is a real motivator for me.”

Adam will be taking part in a London to Brighton bike ride in September and possibly another running event to ensure his £1000 goal is achieved.
