A resident view on latest Public consultation on future of Waxwell Lane Car Park

Julie Waller's views on latest Public consultation on future of Waxwell Lane Car Park
Council Plan to Develop 93% of Waxwell Lane Car Park.
Another “Open Consultation” was held on the 5th December and was not nearly as well attended as the last one.  Perhaps this had something to do with the fact that it was held outside of Pinner Ward.
The architects Gort Scot have partially listened to residents’ concerns by showing on the 8 options up for discussion how many car parking spaces would be allocated for the exclusive use of the residents for these new abodes.   In some case’s the number of allocated parking spaces exceeds the GLA recommendations and this should be applauded.
What is most apparent is that they have chosen to ignore the requirements of existing residents.
In options A, B & C less than 10% of the car park would remain as public parking which is woefully inadequate.
For options D & F under 25% of the car park would remain public parking.
At best 50% of the car park would remain as public car parking.
When they talk about percentage of the car park to be developed, they have conveniently omitted to include any residents’ car park spaces in their calculations.
Yet again the option of leaving the car park as it is was omitted.  This is in total contradiction to Councillors Ferry’s comments on the 14th July stating that all options would be considered and nothing had been predetermined.  We have not been given the option of leaving the car park as is.
At the meeting attendees were repeatedly informed that the car park would be redeveloped in some shape and form.
Another surprise is that the council may now be looking to sell any houses that are built on this land rather than rent them out.  Perhaps at last they have realised that anything built on the car park for Private Rental Sector will not generate the excess monies they first hoped for; or is it that interest rates for borrowing the monies have risen nearly 20% in the last 5 months making it not cost effective!
Different options where displayed which I have summarised below
