Life and Times of Sir Joseph Paxton
15 Feb 12am
Joseph Paxton was one of the most extraordinary Victorians, born
into poverty but becoming friend of queens, dukes, princes, emperors and prime
ministers. He created some of the most iconic buildings of the era, launched
magazines and a newspaper, ran railway companies, became an MP, solved London's sewage problems and kept soldiers alive in the Crimea War, as well as being one of the world's leading gardeners. No wonder he was called the busiest man in England.
