Chatty Cafe Scheme launched in Pinner
A Pinner delicatessen,
Carpentier & Co at
26 High Street has recently joined the national
Chatty Cafe Scheme after being contacted by a local Councillor.
Owner
Harriet Carpentier said one of my regular customers
Councillor Norman Stevenson asked me one day if I’d be interested to join this scheme which he had seen mentioned on TV. The idea is that cafes and restaurants designate a table to encourage customers, particularly those on their own to sit and chat to other customers.
“It’s a wonderful idea and builds on our supporting the local village community here in Pinner” said Harriet. “We will put a notice on our ‘chatty table’ during quiet times”.
Councillor Norman Stevenson said he was very pleased that Harriet had agreed to join this scheme - "This is the first business in our Borough to do this. It's a wonderful idea to benefit everyone, in particular those who are lonely. Harriet is a great supporter of our community here in Pinner and runs a popular local business”.
