Our quiz nights are changing! Entry is still £2, but now £1 goes to Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, our chosen charity for the year. Prizes include a £20 bar tab, a bottle of house wine, and—if luck isn’t on your side—a packet of crisps. Plus, we’re donating an extra £10 weekly, aiming to raise £2,080 this year. Heath Robinson Museum - Sublime Space
Places William Heath Robinson alongside ten contemporary artists, David Inshaw, William Scott, Ray Richardson, Jemma Powell, Jonathan McCree, Sue Arrowsmith, Daniel Sturgis, Peter Coyte, Ralph Steadman, and Barnaby Barford to explore our relationship with nature and landscape as a space for creative reflection.  Whether physically walking in, observing, or imagining the landscape, ideas of the sublime continue to inspire.

Sarah Drakard started the Pinner Women In Business Network in 2014 and it grew to a huge group of supportive inspirational businesses who still pass her business now and vice versa. They meet on the 2nd Thursday of every month at the Whittington Pinner It's fairly informal networking - arrive, join us, order drinks and get chatting. About half way through they do a quick 1 minute intro so everyone gets to hear from everyone. Sarah brings her toddler to each meeting so you're very welcome to bring children or babies if you haven't got childcare or just fancy bringing them! The whole point is they are a group of women who understand the unique pressures women face in business and try to come together to support each other grow their businesses. They have a wide variety of businesses that attend and anyone is welcome!

It is 2021, but Judy and Johnny are living as if it were the 1950s. They have great friends and fantastic neighbours. They love the 1950s lifestyle and can’t get enough of it. However, when financial difficulties start to cloud Johnny’s judgement, he starts to wonder if this is the right lifestyle he and Judy should be having. 

With things not going well for Judy, will Sylvia, Judy’s mother and Johnny, Judy’s husband, be able to convince Judy to stop this 1950s facade and persuade her to come back to her own reality. 

A dark comedy drama play written by Breathing Corpses writer Laura Wade.

The Life in a Line brings together an extraordinary lineup of artists to show just how far a single drawn line can go — from explosive expression to razorsharp precision, from humour to psychological depth. This exhibition transforms the Heath Robinson museum into a dynamic celebration of drawing in all its forms.

Club activities

The Society continues to provide a public amenity in Roxbourne Park, Eastcote by running passenger services every Sunday afternoon  throughout the summer months. On Wednesday afternoons senior members gather for non-public running to reminisce and try out their new, or recently repaired, models. This group also find time to provide “Educational” visits for local schoolchildren. Usually this involves a short talk on the history of railways followed by free rides on the trains.

One of the other main social activities of the Society is the Winter Programme of events. The meetings take place on the second and fourth Wednesday evenings of every month from October to April. Held in the Club hut these usually start at 8pm. These consist of talks or film shows by outside or club speakers. There are also Club events including competitions, and displays of members’ current work. Normally the programme is published in the “Model Engineer” magazine – Club News section and of course on this website. Non-members interested in a particular event are welcome (members only at the AGM). Anyone interested in joining us will be most welcome – contact Secretary.
