The Pinner & District Business Club hosted the Mayor of Harrow, Councillor Eric Silver and Mrs Silver at their monthly luncheon held at Friends restaurant on Wednesday. The Business Club donated £100 to the Mayor's chosen charity "Easy Riders Wheelchair project" For more information about the charity click here

Saturday's Jazz Concert featuring the John Dankworth Quintet went ahead despite the sad death of the Jazz Legend. Shirley Wooton  Pinner Jazz club's Press Officer released a statement earlier today stating that Dame Cleo Lane had  wished that  the concert should go ahead. The Pinner Observer reported, "Thieves smashed a window at Meat As It Used to Be" (Butchers shop) " in Cannon Lane over the weekend and stole a cash till."

Victory pub court case sentence

The Pinner Observer mentions that the former landlord has been sentenced in the case involving an incident that occured last year, which resulted in the pubs closure.The paper reports"...was ordered to carry out 200 hour's community service and fork out £3000 in compensation." The Victory pub is still closed.

Fashion icon Zandra Rhodes is pictured here at a recent Fashion Exhibition in London recently. Diana from dnk  as always was keeping up with the very latest in fashion and no doubt getting some sound advice from Zandra. 

The Pinner Observer has a story this week that" a Pinner Accountant and finacial adviser wormed his way ino the trust of a pensioner and stole nearly £80,000 of her savings, has been jailed for two years."
